Lamin-x protection film (PPF) AKA Clear Bra is a thermoplastic urethane film that is applied to the painted surfaces of a new or used car in order to protect the paint from stone chips, bug splatter and minor abrasions. It is professionally installed by manufacturers' certified applicators using pre-cut Lamin-x kits that are computer cut for a specific car.

Lamin-x protection film is applied using a fitting solution which is usually soap based. This acts to retard the Lamin-x adhesive so as allow the installation without bubbles and creases. The Lamin-x adhesive used is an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive, this means the adhesive only grabs when pressure is applied.
