Lamin-x Products
This is the perfect "You get what you pay for" situation. Those cheap films are a thin 3 mil sticker type of film. That has a dull "orange-peel" finish, thin adhesive, no protection, and complete pain to install on any lights that have a compound curve. Lamin-x is the complete opposite of that cheap stuff. Glossy finish, forgiving adhesive, protection, and designed to mold around complex curves. Plus we manufacture our film and create our own pat
Are your colored films legal on headlights for street use?
Our colored films may not be legal for street use of primary lighting. An off-road disclosure is recommended. Please check your state or local laws before application. Installation of colored Lamin-x Film on your primary lights is done so at your own risk.
Recent Install. There are still some tiny bubbles and milkiness underneath, as well as creases/ripples on top of the film. What should I do?
Once the film settles, any small bubbles/milkiness or application creases will disappear. Lamin-x is a breathable PVC vinyl film. Tiny air pockets will evaporate. The creases/ripples caused by application cards or your finger will smooth out once settled and warmed.
I cannot find a precut kit for my vehicle. What should I do?
Sometimes, we do not have precut kits available for many older model vehicles or custom-shaped applications. The best solution for this is a custom fitment of Universal Covers, which is what the pros prefer. Applying an uncut sheet is just as easy and more forgiving, as the bulk sheets do not need to be perfectly aligned to fit properly. Just cover the desired area and custom trim to fit your specifications and liking.
Decals and Graphics
How do I measure small decals?
Most of our measurements go by width. A lot of people confuse this with height. To clear this up so there are no mix ups, the width measurement is the same as length (left to right). The height is from the top to bottom. You will notice that our ordering procedures require a width to length measurement, please remember to measure width-length (left to right).
How do I measure side graphics?
Measuring for side graphics is easy! All you need to do is choose a design from our selection.
How do I measure racing stripes?
With a measuring tape or yard stick, measure the total length of stripe(s) needed to cover front bumper, hood, roof, trunk and rear. Only measure the areas you plan to put stripe(s) on. Its always smart to order extra as indents use up more vinyl.
How do I measure windshield decals?
From the top center of the windshield, measure down 6-8 inches. Then measure left to right to determine the width you want the decal. Be sure to leave at least a 2-4 inch margin on each end.
